Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 07:01AM I am so lucky that Nicky Mcalister lets me hang out with her Mum. Batty is the coolest 80 year old that I know. I pop over to her flat on an irregular visit to have a cup of tea. As long as its after midday she often tempts me with a wee glass of Sherry. Her opinions (very opinionated) and wisdom (very wise) she shares generously.

Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 09:20AM Leaving London by train is always fun and yesterday I sped up from St Pancras Station to Nottingham to visit with my mate Mark Taylor. The bloke is a tennis coach but he has just hit the big time. He and Rebecca his beautiful wife have bought a new house in one of the posher parts of town. It's raining and I help unpack some boxes in the kitchen. The main job of the weekend is to put up Lauren's Playhouse and her Rabbit Hutch in the expansive back garden. Lauren is 5 and the coolest brightest little button ever. Mark Taylor and I get Indian takeaway and a couple of beers from the local curry house.
Yum yum.
We watch the Iconic Aussie movie KENNY....about a bloke who cleans toilets. (watch it for a mega laugh)

Monday, August 24, 2009 at 09:00AM Today after about a dozen hours of study i attend the iranian center in Hammersmith to sit my Life in the UK Test. Anyone applying for British Citizenship needs to pass this test before submitting the £720 and the most complicated form that i have ever seen. I sit at the computer booth as do 12 other people. We have 45 minutes to answer questions about the British population and Parliament and law and order. Some of the questions i have to guess the answers but am happy that i have been able to pass. With my Certificate of Competency in hand i head home. I lived in NZ for 23 years. Now outside NZ for 23 years and in london for 18 !!! Those little red Passports seem to be getting harder and harder to get.

Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 06:47PM Kate and I have just driven a white Mustang convertible across the desert to Santa Monica....the very cool beach suburb LAX. Its here where Jennifer sips her latte after yoga class and right in the middle of it all live Kates good friends Zan and Jamie. Zan is a real hippy chick who teaches yoga classes and Jamie a guitar playing Scriptwriter in the movies. They live in a palm tree lined street that goes down to the beach. Kate met Zan on the Underground in London and they have been bf ever since. Their sofabed is our home for the next few days. What great hosts. We eat at the local restaurants, Jamie arranges a game of tennis for us and we cycle up The Esplanade to Venice Beach.
Love this place.

Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 05:50PM The travelling continues. Kate and I are in Las Vegas. Thy turns 30 and Nicky and Steve are on a routine Vegas visit. We spend the morning by the pool. Afternoon walking the Strip. After dinner its Casino time.
Steve's system works well for Kate on the Blackjack Table but I let the House win again and again !!
